Developing & Implementing Community Events
Annual events, typically on Whalen Commons, are developed and implemented by the Event Coordinator along with a volunteer committee.   Each event requires advertising, public works work orders, vendor registration, and entertainment solicitations. 

The Town of Poolesville sponsors the following Annual Events!

Richard S. McKernon Youth Fishing Tournament at Stevens Park Pond

May 13, 2023  12 - 2 pm

All youths between the ages of 6 and 16 are invited to come on out and "catch some fun".  Cost is $1.00 and the event is held rain or shine.
Congratulations to our 2022 winner, Delaney Kannegiesser, with an 8 3/4 inch Bluegill!

Community Scarecrow Contest

Stroll through Whalen Commons for a scary good time. Our 2022 Scarecrow entrants were amazing and can be viewed on the Town of Poolesville facebook page. Congratulations to our 2022 winners: The Hagen Family with "Top Gun" and Little Learners Childcare with "The Rainbow Fish".

Trick-Or-Treating

Little goblins & ghouls can prowl the streets of Poolesville in search of goodies from participating homes and businesses between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.Please only visit homes where the porch lights are on!
