All youths between the ages of 6 and 16 are invited to come on out and "catch some fun".  Cost is $1.00 and the event is held rain or shine.

Community Scarecrow Contest

     

Join in the fun and bring a scarecrow to life on Whalen Commons!  Create your own unique individual or family-friendly scarecrow, or a scarecrow representing your business or organization. Scarecrows will be on display from October 9 through November 2 and voting will take place on Poolesville's WUMCO Walk & Harvest Fest facebook page. Prize for Individual/Family category is a $100.00 gift certificate to a local business of your choice.  Prize for business/organization is a free 1/2 page ad in the Monocacy Monocle.  REGISTER HERE

Trick-Or-Treating

  • 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Little goblins & ghouls can prowl the streets of Poolesville in search of goodies from participating homes and businesses between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.Please only visit homes where the porch lights are on!

Holiday Lighting Contest


Judging takes place the 3rd week in December. All homeowners and merchants in the Poolesville town limits are invited to "deck their halls" and show their holiday spirit. The rules for the competition are available online (PDF).

For homeowners we have 3 categories:

  • Traditional

One business will also be chosen as most appreciated.

Fisher Avenue will be the dividing line with 1 winner from each category selected from each side of town.
