Developing & Implementing Community Events
Annual events, typically on Whalen Commons, are developed and implemented by the Event Coordinator along with a volunteer committee.   Each event requires advertising, public works work orders, vendor registration, and entertainment solicitations. 

The Town of Poolesville sponsors the following Annual Events! 

Poolesville Day

September 23, 2023

10 am - 4 pm 

Don't miss this Poolesville tradition! Join family and friends along Fisher Avenue and in Whalen Commons to enjoy musical performances, arts and crafts vendors, food and beverages, kids activities, livestock displays, skateboarding demos, and an antique car show!

FREE Paper Shredding sponsored by Jim Brown, Turning Point Real Estate and Lakeside Title. 

Yuck Old Paint - Paint Disposal $2.00 per can. 

FREE Electronics Recycling through Montgomery County.

Community Scarecrow Contest

Stroll through Whalen Commons for a scary good time. Our 2023 Scarerow Contest is right around the corner.  Online Registation is open through September 30th. Two entry categories: Business/Community Organization and Individual/Family. Register HERE. Scarecrows will be displayed on Whalen Commons from October 3rd to November 2nd. Online voting from October 16th to the 30th on the Poolesville Community Scarecrow Contest Facebook page.  Winners announced via FB live on October 31st.

Richard S. McKernon Youth Fishing Tournament at Stevens Park Pond
