Poolesville's Friday on the Commons combines an Artisan & Farmers’ Market with outstanding entertainment in a small town get together held on select Fridays at Whalen Commons in Poolesville, Maryland, in the heart of Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve.
Relax with Family & Friends
Friday on the Commons is a wonderful place to relax on Friday evening with family and friends. You can stop by for locally grown produce, fruits or baked goods. Be sure to visit our artisan vendors for some local arts & crafts. Our music is world class, and each Friday on the Commons event is super fun and entertaining.
Dinner on the Commons
Make an evening of it! Bring your lawn chairs and have dinner on the Commons. Whether it's from one of our BBQ vendors, rotating food trucks or bringing something delicious from one of Poolesville’s many fine restaurants.

You haven’t been to Poolesville? Well come on out and enjoy these unique community events. We’re only a 20-minute drive from Frederick, Germantown, Gaithersburg and Potomac.
Red, White & Brews - 6:00 - 10:00 pm
June 5th - Marks the kickoff of our Friday on the Commons 2026 season! Several breweries will be serving up their favorite beers. We will also have assorted wines. Food trucks will be joining us. We will have plenty of kids activities and it will be a Rockin Good Time with The 19th Street Band on the bandshell from 8 - 10 pm.
Bugs & Giggles Family Night with Movie - 6:00pm - 10:00pm
July 10th - Perfomance by Story Tapestries, Village EDU (Montgomery County's newest zoo) will be joining us with lots of bugs/bees for the kids to learn about and enjoy. This will also include a scavenger hunt! The evening will end with a family friendly bug themed movie that will begin at dusk.
Glow Party - 6:00 - 10:00 pm
July 24th - A glowing good time on the Commons! Six Daze Band (90's-00's cover band) will perform from 8:00 - 10:00pm. Wine, Beer & Cocktails being served. Kid's craft, inflatables and food trucks.
Critter Jam Family Night with Movie - 6:00pm - 10:00pm
August 7th - Perfomance by Story Tapestries, Village EDU (Montgomery County's newest zoo) will be joining us with lots of critters for the kids to learn about and enjoy. This will also include a very cool spider web activitiy! The evening will end with a family friendly critter themed movie that will begin at dusk.
Shake, Rattle 'n Roll - 6:00 - 10:00 pm
August 21st - Join us for a 1950's Rockabilly night on the commons with Kiti Gartner and Her Drifting Valentines from 8:00 -10:00pm. Wine and Beer being served. Kid's craft, inflabtables and food trucks.
Roots & Rhythms - 6:00 - 10:00 pm
September 4th - Join us for a country picnic style night on the Commons. Highway Legends Band from 8:00pm - 10:00pm. Wine, breweries and distillaries TBD. Games, craft and inflatables for the kids. Lots of great food trucks.
Recycling Event - 8:00am - 12:00pm
October 3rd - Paper Shredding, electronics recycling, eco friendly vendors and small farmers market.

This is a great place to meet directly with your consumers. In 2025, our events attracted between 400 and 600 people. Parking is easy, our fees our low, and our events are fun!
