Poolesville is looking for volunteers to fill one Planning Commission Member position. Applicants need to be residents of the Town for at least six (6) months and share a strong interest in keeping Poolesville the gem that it is! These applicants are interviewed by the Commissioners.
The Planning Commission consists of 5 town residents of which one is a Commissioner of Poolesville an serves in an ex officio capacity. The volunteer members serve for 5-year terms and meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
The Poolesville Commissioners and the Planning Commission share the responsibility for directing future growth in the Town. They review ordinances, development plans and in many cases, they make recommendations to the Commissioners, the legislative body who takes final action on adoption of ordinances.
