Holiday Lighting Contest 2024

Home is where you hang your lights, so get in the holiday spirit and dazzle us with your decorations! 

This year, the Town of Poolesville is hosting a new style of Holiday Lighting Contest. The contest is open to all Poolesville residents and businesses. If you would like to participate in the contest, please register your home or business. Registration forms must be received by December 9.

Town Hall will compile the entries and put together a map for drive-by viewing of all homes and businesses registered to compete. The community will vote for a winner in each category.

Misfit Toy Award - Best use of inflatables

Home for the Holidays Award - Best Traditional

Candy Cane Lane - Best overall theme

Merry Marketplace - Business with the merriest Holiday spirit

Tree of Giving Ornament Sponsorship to Benefit WUMCO

Sponsor an 8" shatterproof ornament that will be customized with your name or logo for $40.00. The ornaments will be hung on the Tree of Giving through December. The ornament will be yours to keep after the Holiday Season.  If you want your ornament hung on the Tree of Giving at the holiday lighting ceremony, please get your form in by December 4th.

WUMCO Basket Auction

Basket donations are needed for the WUMCO Basket Auction at the Holiday Lighting Ceremony. All proceeds go to WUMCO! Wine baskets, book baskets, gift card baskets, kid's games baskets, handmade items baskets. The Holiday Lighting Ceremony is Friday, December 6, 2024, from 6:00-9:00 pm; your donation baskets must be delivered by December 4th.
