Poolesville Day is a large community celebration that is held the third Saturday in September. This year’s festival was bigger-than-ever with approximately 15,500 in attendance. The festivities began with the annual 5K, 1 mile fun run followed by our parade of 82 participants down our hometown “main street”. We were honored once again to have the parade lead by our heroes of the American Legion followed by our Grand Marshal, George Hillard. Other participants included local community groups; children of all ages; specialized cars; beautiful horses and hounds along with the Virginia Cavalry including Abe Lincoln. The event included live performances; great food; over 150 Artisans/Exhibitors; games & rides; car show; Civil War reenactments and new this year the Maryland Ag Show Case. There is always something wonderful for everyone. Of course this event would not be possible without the support of our wonderful town; local sponsors and our dedicated volunteers.
