Each year baseball, soccer and lacrosse teams apply for athletic field use. Some sports teams, both local and out of Town, request daily practice or game times and others just for weekend tournament play. Many times, teams do not always get the fields requested or some teams use split time to get in practices. The heavy use on the fields requires more maintenance and overtime pay for employees during weekend events.
For this and other concerns, the Commissioners tasked the Parks & Streets Board with developing recommendations for permit guidelines and a fee schedule. Over the past several months, the Parks Board has drafted proposed changes to the Town’s Park Permitting and Regulations documents. Permits are proposed to be administered by Town Staff following the adopted guidelines.
