The Poolesville Water Department crews will be beginning the annual fire hydrant flushing maintenance program on April 10, 2017. As a result of the flushing process, residents in the immediate vicinity of the work may experience temporary discoloration of their water. This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and air and does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience discoloration in your water after crews have been flushing in your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your home by running all water faucets for a few minutes. We also recommend that residents refrain from washing white clothes for at least 24 hours after the flushing.
Below is the neighborhood flushing schedule:
April 10 Elizabeth's Delight, TAMA, Wood at TAMA, Brightwell Crossing
April 11 Westerly, Meadowlark Manor, Hunter's Run
April 12 Fisher Avenue, Meadow Valley, Wootton Heights
April 13 Wesmond
April 14 Seneca Chase, Sumner Ridge, Stoney Springs
