[ARCHIVED] Poolesville High School Ranked at Top!

Town Commissioners Applaud School’s Continued Excellence and High Academic Standards; Poolesville High Ranks in Study as First in State, Second in Metro Region and 32nd Nationally! Building on its tradition for academic excellence and student achievement, Poolesville High School was ranked as the top Maryland public high school in the newly released “America’s Top High Schools 2016” report by Newsweek Magazine. Poolesville ranked 32nd nationally and second among high schools in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region.
Newsweek’s annual ranking of America’s high schools is based on a variety of factors and performance indicators, including college acceptance data, student participation and performance on SAT and ACT college preparation tests, as well as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and other such tests,
“I know I speak for my fellow commissioners and for our whole community when I say we are so proud of the academic excellence that has become the hallmark of Poolesville High School,” said Jim Brown, President of the Poolesville Town Commission. “We congratulate Principal Deana Levine and the staff at Poolesville High, and especially all of the students and proud parents, and we wish them all a wonderful new school year ahead.”
