Want to help protect stream health and air quality in our area? The Dickerson Area Facilities Implementation Group for residents of the affected Upcounty community (Poolesville) has a vacancy. The group meets 4 times a year, March, June, September and December. 7:30 PM, 2nd Tuesday of month.

They hear reports on operations of incinerator (Covanta), compost facility, and power plant (NRG, though they are not required to report).

Other main work, done through subcommittees, is reviewing and revising sci/engineering reports/studies on, both for the facilities and the Site 2 landfill:
1. Stream health
2. Air quality
3. Non-air quality (i.e., hay, fish, mud, milk, etc.)
4. And a Health Risk Assessment study. This takes current theory of what should be expected to occur as a result of the incinerator
