[ARCHIVED] Public Service Announcement

This safety reminder is brought to you by Townhall as we have received multiple calls from concerned residents.

Now that daylight savings time has shortened our daylight hours, there is an increased element of danger earlier than normal and in low-light conditions for those on skateboards, bikes, e-bikes or on foot.

One of the most important and often overlooked aspects of traversing at night is reflective clothing. Many people assume it’s sufficient to just wear your normal daytime clothing, but when it gets dark, you quickly turn invisible.

Always stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings. Avoid distractions like texting or wearing headphones, as they can make you more vulnerable to potential threats.

While the Town continuously works to ensure adequate streetlighting, there are shadowed areas and motorists may have difficulty seeing you and have a shortened response time.

Biking/walking at night doesn’t have to be a dangerous experience. By taking proactive measures to enhance your safety and sharing this information with your children, we can always prioritize our well-being.
