The Water Department will be flushing hydrants in April to reduce and remove rust and iron accumulation in the water mains. The flushing may cause discolored water due to loose sediment, and we advise residents not to wash white clothes for 24 hours after the flushing.

REAL PROPERTY TAX RATE INCREASE
For the taxable year beginning July 1, 2026, the Commissioners of the Town of Poolesville proposes to increase real property tax rates from $ .1877 per $100 of assessment to $ .1901 per $100 of assessment.
A public hearing on the proposed real property tax rate increase will be held at 7:00 pm on April 6, 2026 at Poolesville Town Hall, 19721 Beall Street, Poolesville, MD 20837.
The hearing is open to the public, and public testimony is encouraged.

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on April 6, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Poolesville Town Hall, 19721 Beall Street, Poolesville, MD for the purpose of the Commissioners of Poolesville receiving public comment on Proposed Ordinance 232 – FY27 Budget and Tax Rate. Pursuant to Section 82.13 of the Charter of the Town of Poolesville, the Commissioners shall adopt an annual budget that provides a complete financial plan for the budget year July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. The proposed budget includes a tax rate that exceeds the constant yield tax rate. The real property tax rate shall be $ .1901 per $100 of the assessed real property value. Budget Summary
