Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Schedule 

The Town of Poolesville Administrative Offices will close at noon on Wednesday, November 27th, in observance of Thanksgiving, and reopen on Monday, December 2nd at 7:30 AM.

Thanksgiving Holiday Trash Schedule:  If your regular trash pick-up day is Thursday, Titus will pick up your trash on Friday, November 29th. All other trash and recycling services will be as usual.

Planning Commission Position Open

Poolesville is looking for volunteers to fill one Planning Commission Member position. Applicants need to be residents of the Town for at least six (6) months and share a strong interest in keeping Poolesville the gem that it is!  The Commissioners interview these applicants.

The Planning Commission consists of 5 town residents, of which one is a Commissioner of Poolesville and serves in an ex officio capacity. The volunteer members serve for 5-year terms and meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

The Poolesville Commissioners and the Planning Commission share the responsibility for directing future growth in the Town. They review ordinances development plans, and in many cases, they make recommendations to the Commissioners, the legislative body who takes final action on the adoption of ordinances.

Small Business Saturday

Poolesville Proclaims Small Business Saturday

At the November 18 Commissioners meeting, the Town Commissioners voted to approve a proclamation declaring Saturday, November 30, 2024, as Small Business Saturday; the Town Commissioners encourage residents to shop local on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to recognize their contributions to our community. Volunteers Needed

Pick It Up Poolesville 

The Sustainable Poolesville Committee and Poolesville Green partner together to sponsor our Pick it up, Poolesville litter initiative.  Come out and help keep Poolesville clean.  We will have bags available.  Please bring your own gloves and trash grabbers if you have them.  SSL hours will be available as needed for students in grades 6 - 12.  Be sure to sign in for SSL forms.  Click on the link below for more information.
