The Town of Poolesville "Town" is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified contractors, which have experience in providing municipal residential trash, recyclables, and yard waste (i.e., refuse) collection services.
Three (3) copies of the Proposal must be delivered on or before Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Submissions received after this time will be rejected and returned unopened. The envelope or box containing the Proposal must be sealed and clearly marked "Proposal Municipal Solid Waste Collection." There will be a public opening of the proposals on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.

Can the Town provide monthly reports for tonnage for trash, recycling, and yard waste?
Our current trash provider only provides for recycling. See below.

Can we provide a secondary proposal for consideration, with the Town paying for disposal or tipping fees? It would have huge savings on the unit cost for the Town. Yes, please include an alternate for the Town paying disposal fees.
Is 1997 units updated and current? Yes.
Are there any new developments or any notable construction in progress now or in the near future? Very slow growth, with less than 70 homes to be added over the next 3-5 years.
What was the last contract awarded, and who was the contractor? What is the budget for this contract? Bates is our current provider @ 21.28 per/unit/month. The successful bidder will set the budget.
Are subcontractors allowed with this contract, and are there any goals such as MBE, etc.? No sub-contractors unless expressly approved by the Town of Poolesville, no goals
What financial statements are needed? And is it mandatory to show that the contractor company is qualified? Is the county looking for ending balances etc.? The Town is looking for ending balances and, yes, to help qualify.
What size bin is provided to Residents for recycling? 95-gallon bin (updated from RFP).
