Kohlhoss Waterline Replacement Project Update

Work will continue on the Kohlhoss waterline project on Monday, October 7th, 2024. The contractor will replace the fire hydrants and connect them to the new water main. The contractor might temporarily shut off the water service to complete the connection. The contractor will notify homeowners before turning off the water.

The Town's contractor will continue paving the courts that have already completed their service connections; next week, this will be Court 7 and Court 8 (Kohlhoss Rd Court 17654 to 17689 All (closest to Cattail Rd), weather permitting. The contractor will work one court at a time and provide notice before the paving begins. Your cars will need to be moved during the paving on your court. If your vehicle has not been moved, then it will be towed by the Town at the owner's expense. This work may cause traffic delays in this area, so please plan accordingly. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please get in touch with the Town Hall at 301-428-8927 or townhall@poolesvillemd.gov.

Community Center and Dog Park

At the September 16th Commissioners meeting, the Commissioners discussed the county’s site selection process for a new community center in Poolesville. The number one location is Dillingham Park. Also, the Commissioners directed the Parks Board to investigate the relocation of the dog park from Dillingham Park due to the size constraints that the community center and the parking for the community center will take up on the park.

At the October 7th Commissioners meeting, the Commissioners will discuss a resolution allowing the town to enter into a lease agreement with the county for the community center. Staff will provide a full presentation on The selection of Dillingham Park.

At the October 9th Park Board meeting, the Parks Board invites interested residents to attend as staff will present initial ideas about accommodating the dog park at another location. This meeting will allow residents to give their input on a new location for the dog park.
