Kohlhoss Waterline Replacement Project Update

Work will continue on the Kohlhoss waterline project on Monday, July 29th, 2024. The contractor will work on Court 7 and Court 8 ( Kohlhoss Rd 17654 to 17689). Work on Court 7 will start on Monday, and Court 8 will begin on Wednesday, July 31st. The contractor will provide notice and have traffic control on site. This work may cause traffic delays in this area, so please plan accordingly. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

Water Tower

Water Tower Update

The Telecom Companies will continue to use the crane to relocate some of their equipment back onto the water tower next week. The work will include parking equipment in the Wootton Heights tot lot and the parking area in front of the park. Therefore, there will be no parking on the east side of Lilli St. (visitor parking) and no parking in front of 19884 to 19860 Beatriz Ave. Town staff will put out traffic cones and no parking signs in this area. If you park in this area, we will provide parking for residents at Dillingham Park during this time or on Wottoon Ave. Traffic control will be on-site to keep traffic moving; however, there may be delays, so we recommend you plan accordingly. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Town Hall at 301-428-8927. 

Volunteers Needed

Volunteer needed for Poolesville Board of Elections

The Town of Poolesville is recruiting for one volunteer position on the Board of Elections. The Board will meet a few times before November and participate on the day of elections at Town Hall. This year’s election will be held on November 5, 2024.

Responsibilities

The Supervisors have the following responsibilities and authority:

  •  Act as registration officials and judges of all Town elections.
  •  Conduct such elections at a time that the Commissioners of Poolesville shall direct. They shall further receive all returns of election and certify the results thereof to the Commissioners of Poolesville.
  • Determine, by majority vote, which applicants do not qualify as voters.
  • Promulgate rules and regulations to implement the provisions of the Charter and Poolesville Code for the conduct of Town elections.
  • Provide for continuous registration of the voters of the Town of Poolesville.
