Street Paving Starts This Month  


Paving of town streets will begin next week and last until the middle of June, weather permitting. This routine work is done every two years with the overall goal of repaving each road every 20 years. To see the list of roads that will be paved this summer, please see the link below:

PFAS Filters

PFAS Remediation


This week the Town installed a PFAS remediation system at Well 3 (Wootton Ave). This system, which is part of a Maryland Department of Environment-approved pilot program, uses carbon filters to remove the PFAS water. The Town will test the water to see if the filters are removing the PFAS before the well is put back into the water distribution system. Richard S. McKernon Youth Fishing Tournament at Stevens Park Pond


All youths between the ages of 6 and 16 are invited to come on out and "catch some fun" at the annual Richard S. McKernon Youth Fishing Tournament at Stevens Park Pond The cost is $1.00, and the event will be held rain or shine. Prizes are awarded for each age category.

Wellness Wednesday - Overdose Response Training


Join The Town of Poolesville and WUMCO Help, Inc. in a series of WELLNESS WEDNESDAY workshops to promote healthy living and prevent disease.  Each month a different topic on healthy lifestyles will be offered. Take charge of your health in 2023.

May Session: Overdose Response Training

May 24, 2023:  6:30 - 8:00 pm - Town Hall Meeting Room

Take part in training through Montgomery County & the Maryland Department of Health, where you will learn how to SAVE someone from an unintentional, life-threatening poisoning related to the ingestion of opioids. If you are concerned about a friend, family member or an associate with an opioid disorder, this training is for you. Nalaxone is a prescription medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.  Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a FREE Nalaxone kit via mail or scheduled pick up time.

Community Wildlife Habitat

Community Wildlife Habitat


The Town of Poolesville has been re-certified by the National Wildlife Federation as an "Active Community Wildlife Habitat" for another 5 years. This certification is for communities that take "exceptional action to preserve, enhance, restore and connect wildlife habitat while also communicating the importance of habitat stewardship to the public."

Stevens Park Summer Program


Registration for the Stevens Park Summer Recreation Program (Summer Camp) will open by May 22, 2023, with camp starting June 26th, 2023. More details to come.
