8/20/21 - A Message from the Commissioners re: Bates Trash Service

The Town of Poolesville thanks our residents for keeping us informed about various missed trash and recycling pick-ups. We hear you loud and clear, and apologize for the lack of service from our contracted waste management company, Bates. We thank you for your patience with our town staff as they and town commissioners are currently working to find a resolution and have been exploring other options for the future. Bates' Chief Operating Officer, Carolyn Mills-Matthews, says they will collect missed trash on Saturday. Their main dispatcher will be double-checking with town staff just after trash pickup (and will remain on-site for an extended period) to ensure that Bates returns to pick up missed trash. Ms. Mills-Matthews also offered her apology for the disruption to the town and added, "We appreciate the Town's understanding of the challenges that the entire trucking and bus industry is currently facing."
