Working concurrent with the sewer repairs in Westerly, the Town addressed deficiencies discovered within the sewer lines along Fisher Avenue. Through flow monitoring during rain events, the Town new that significant leaks were occurring in these sewer lines. Using a sewer camera we were able to view the conditions of the sewer infrastructure and identify problem areas and determine which lines need to be repaired or replaced.
Through televising, it was discovered that there were a number of sewer connections into the main that did not connect to existing structures. Further investigation from older aerial pictures showed the location of several houses that used to be located along fisher avenue that corresponded with the abandoned sewer connections. These connections were sealed closed eliminating a major source of inflow.
