Poolesville Solar Power
Developed through a public-private partnership between the Town of Poolesville, Standard Solar, Inc. and energy provider, UGI Corp., this new energy source, comprised of nearly 4,000 solar panels, promises to yield reduced energy costs for the Town and educational opportunities for local students studying environmental science at Poolesville High School.
Saving Money
Solar energy is projected to save the town up to $30,000 in its first year. It was made possible, in part, by MEA incentives for renewable energy systems. Poolesville is one of the first municipalities in Maryland to install a solar array and the first within Montgomery County.
