Thanks to everyone who took the time to take the Sustainable Poolesville Community Survey. The survey was developed by Sustainable Maryland, which is a collaborative effort between the Environmental Finance Center (EFC) at the University of Maryland and the Maryland Municipal League. The survey was designed to be a simple way to quickly assess the needs, interests, and sustainable behaviors of our community and highlight important issues.
A total of 293 people responded to the Community Survey via Survey Monkey. These are some major themes that stood out from the survey. Residents of Poolesville:• Are very interested in food fairs, farmer’s markets and would like to see more information/activities on healthy eating.• Are concerned with the overuse of pesticides/fertilizers on lawns, and pet waste not being picked up.• Have a keen awareness of greenhouse gas emissions, carbon footprints, and other environmental topics.• Are interested in using less energy and being more "green."
The feedback from the survey will be reviewed by the Sustainable Poolesville Committee and will assisted us with developing programs and action items.
